What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy is a form of healthcare that helps people recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall physical health and well-being. It involves using various techniques, such as exercises, stretches, and hands-on therapies, to improve movement, function, and reduce pain. Physical therapists are highly trained professionals who work with individuals to create customized treatment plans that meet their specific needs and goals.

At Project Performance, some of our patients do not have pain performing day-to-day tasks, but will have pain during their favorite recreational activity or sport. This is when our performance physical therapists create plans to help their specific movement and sport.

What problems do we usually see in our clinic?

At Project Performance, we work with an active population dealing with issues everywhere in the body. Here are some common conditions we see:

  1. Knee pain: tendonitis or tendinopathy from overuse or weakness (runner's knee, jumper's knee, etc), ligament or meniscus sprain, hamstring strain, bursitis, patellar laxity (loose kneecap), arthritis

  2. Low back pain: caused by a variety of factors, including herniated discs, arthritis, scoliosis, muscle strain, spinal stenosis, muscle imbalance or overuse

  3. Shoulder pain: impingement, bursitis, labral tear, tendonitis or tendinopathy from overuse or weakness, dislocation

  4. Hip pain: piriformis syndrome, CAM or Pincer impingement, labral tear, tendonitis or tendinopathy from overuse or weakness, bursitis

  5. Neck pain: caused by muscle strain, herniated disc, posture dysfunction, cervical radiculopathy, thoracic outlet syndrome, arthritis or degenerative changes in the spine

  6. Elbow pain: tennis or golfer's elbow, tendonitis or tendinopathy from overuse or weakness, bursitis, fractures

  7. Ankle and Foot pain: ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, achilles pain or tendonitis, instability of ankle/foot, impingement

  8. Surgery after-care: ACL, meniscus, or other repairs within the knee; total knee replacement, total hip replacement, achilles, shoulder labral tear, rotator cuff repair, hip labral tear

Do we take insurance?

At Project Performance Physical Therapy, we offer personalized, top-quality care with a one-on-one approach. We dedicate a full hour to each patient, unrestricted by insurance limitations. In order to give you the absolute best care, we are an out-of-network provider

This approach enabled us to help people move and feel better more quickly than traditional insurance-based methods.

80% of our patients have "tried" to get help at insurance-based clinics, but did not give them the long term solutions they were expecting. This is due to not enough 1-on-1 time with the PT, exercises were too easy and felt like a waste of time, and no plan on how to return to their favorite activity/sport.

However, we do provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for you to receive reimbursement or apply towards your deductible - this will depend on your insurance benefits.

Our services are eligible for reimbursement with HSA/FSA. Superbill will also be provided for this method.

If you have any questions, call us at (619) 438-0152 or email us at admin@projectperformancept.com. You can also click the link below to book a consultation call with one of our physical therapists.

Why choose us?

Better than traditional insurance-based clinics:

It's our promise to give you the absolute best care.
